Recreational Pickleball meets in Atlantis at 11am on Mondays. This group is currently full but another recreational group, Pickleball Plus meets on Wednesdays.

This group is aimed at players who want to enjoy the game, but are not too concerned about the score. Another group, Pickleball Competitive for more serious players meets on Fridays.

Anyone new to the sport should contact Caroline in the first instance.

Although it is a relatively relaxed sport, there are certainly opportunities for accidents! Please watch this video to see how to avoid the most common ones. Players are asked to sign the Pickleball Safety form before playing.

Up to six courts are available, in the main hall at Atlantis Leisure. Paddles and balls are provided, though you're free to bring your own paddle, of course. The cost is £2 per person, payable to the convenor (Gordon).

Having a go!

Please let the Convenor know at 9am on Saturday whether or not you intend to play so he can arrange for a suitable number of courts.
Currently, members respond to an app to book their place. However, this should not prevent others from playing. Please contact the convenor if this would be a problem.

The timed player rotation system,
has proved successful and is now fully
integrated. Thus, allowing for a good
circulation of partners and
opposition throughout the one hour session

During the school holidays we meet at 4.00pm.

Please contact Gordon if you would like more information.

Pickleball Scotland (the national organisation which brings together pickleball clubs from all over Scotland) has developed the concept of "Pickleball Ambassadors". Ambassadors are trained to introduce the game to complete beginners in a safe and supportive way. One of our u3a members has successfully been accredited as a Pickleball Ambassador, though he insists we should not call him "Your Excellency"

There is another group - Competitive Pickleball for those who aspire to play at a higher level. This group meets at 9.30am on Fridays.

Anyone wishing to learn the game should contact Caroline . When there are a suitable number of potential players, a class will be arranged.

If anyone would like to use a court for practice and/or tuition, let Gordon know.
