We had an enjoyable discussion of Snow Falling on Cedars, which everyone liked except Sue, and even she mentioned its good points.   We felt it was beautifully written with good characterisation and  a plot which kept us tense until the end, though we had some discussion about the female characters, especially Hatsue. There was also some speculation about how Kabuo might have been received into the community after his release. Most of us felt the setting was wonderfully drawn.
