We unanimously agreed that this autobiographical memoir, that takes place in the Metropolitan Museum of Modern Art, was an excellent read and very much enjoyed by us all. The young author's journey, as he comes to terms with his bereavement over a period of ten years, is narrated with honesty, sincerity and gentle enthusiasm for art and people alike.
As Patrick walks the many miles around the different galleries, in his blue Museum uniform, his grief gradually becomes more bearable and his engagement with the many artifacts and great works of art act as a balm for his troubled soul. His engagement with his numerous colleagues and the many visitors reveal a deeply sensitive, reflective and thoughtful young man, who is also well-educated and passionate about art as well as the study of mankind.
